Melbourne Fashion Week: Reporting from my couch

Melbourne Fashion Week: Reporting from my couch

So, Melbourne's Virgin Australia Fashion Festival (VAMFF) arrived. It came... and went... and me? I got hit with hardcore sickness and spend the entire week on the couch feeling sorry for myself, sleeping 18 hours a day and watching bad reality TV 😭

To help myself feel a little bit better, I've put together a few of my favourite looks from the shows, and the trends I'm loving for Autumn/Winter. Because I wasn't there, I made everyone report back to me! Sam stopped into the GQ Runway show and my publicist Sally guest instagrammed runways 5 & 6 for me (thanks to AMPR) so she gave me the lowdown!

One of my go-to brands for my events is Misha Collection and their runway didn't disappoint! The Rock 'n' roll vibe include luxe gold fringing, beaded embroidery and tough leather was fresh and flirty - I'm itching to try it on.

Trends I'm excited for this Autumn / Winter 2017

  • 80's Power Dressing - padded shoulders and sequins will be fun to wear for a big event.
  • Ruffles - it looks like they're going to be EVERYWHERE and I love the romantic vibe.
  • Modern Tartan - The clean linear lines from By Johnny were a subtle, chic take on traditional tartan.
  • Knee high boots (Always!).

The 80's power-dressing trend was back at Zhivago.

The National Graduate Showcase was incredible. I love seeing young up-and-coming designers' work (I used to be obsessed with Project Runway!) and I wish I'd been there to see it!
