With NYFW, LFW & MFW all wrapped up, and Paris Fashion Week well underway, I'm getting excited about my first Melbourne Fashion Week as it's the first time I'll have ever been in Melbourne when it's on.
But before I get ahead of myself, here's what I'm loving from the international shows, my favourite picks, my trend predictions, and the looks I'm praying don't become trends in Australia...!
Dark Romance at Elie Saab:
The designer that stole my heart this season is Elie Saab...his Ready-To-Wear runway show in Paris was immaculate. The mix of structured silhouettes paired with sheer, light fabrications, nipped waists, luxe embroidery and just the right amount of skin, was pure perfection.
My trend prediction for Fall is that we will start seeing structured garments make more of a comeback. Haider Akcerman's show (caused headlines thanks to Nicki Minaj's outfit!) was a beautiful mix of masculine shapes and soft feminine fabrics. I'm SO ready for the giant oversized (faux) fur jackets too!
...and that's a NO from me!...
These are the looks that caught my for all the wrong reasons. I'm all for creativity in fashion but...please explain.
Don't agree with my favs? Chime in below with your favourite looks and I'll check them out :)
