One of my favourite things is discovering new make up tricks.
Tips that save you time, make you look like a pro, and take minimal effort! However there is one look I've been trying for years to perfect, but I feel like I never quite nail it.
My go-to look has always been a black smokey eye but it can look pretty intense and quite easy to stuff up! I decided it was finally time for me to master this look and after watching a million YouTube tutorials I realised I was going to need some help.
My girlfriend Victoria, owns the heavenly Curtis Collection Cosmetics so I recruited her to give me the low-down on every tip and trick she uses so that I can do this look in five minutes as I'm rushing out the door.
My go-to for a night out is a black smokey eye and winged eyeliner, but I want something less intense and more natural!
SNEAKY TIPS FOR NAILING a SMOKEY EYE
Start by contouring the eye with bronzer - fantastic because I don't like to use a bunch of different products!
Highlight the center of the eye in the inner 2/3 of the eye with a lighter shadow (we used Golden Girl)
Use a dark coloured shadow in the outer corner of the eye only, making a V from the lash-line to the crease.
Brown liquid eyeliner is best for this look so it stays soft and natural.
Adding layers of volumising mascara or lashes will amp up the intensity.
Don't forget to BLEND BLEND BLEND!!
I'm thrilled Victoria had time to give me the low-down on this look, I've been using her products since the start of this year and the quality is AMAZING! I use the foundation religiously. These tips made it super simple to achieve, not even I can mess this one up! You could definitely have some fun with this by adding colours and playing with the intensity. This look is perfect for a night out or for taking your look from day to night. Hope you also learned a little something useful.
